The Manual Reset is led by Elena Blanco and Savinder Bual, practitioners with decades of combined experience across art, architecture, structural engineering, and education, delivered across the UK, Spain, India, Ecuador and China. Together, they are also co-founders of Blanco Bual, a design and architecture practice known for handcrafted, material-led work.
Elena Blanco is a multidisciplinary designer with a background spanning architecture and structural engineering. She has worked at leading practices including Heatherwick Studio, Atelier One (London), Cocoarchitects (Barcelona) and Esteyco (Barcelona), on projects ranging from the Google headquarters in Silicon Valley to urban design work in Ecuador. She is currently an Associate Lecturer at Leeds Beckett University, teaching Sustainable Design in China.
Savinder Bual is an award-winning visual and sound artist whose work has shown at PEER Gallery London, The Drawing Center New York, and Bloomberg New Contemporaries. She has received awards and funding from the Arts Foundation, Jerwood, Freelands Foundation and Arts Council England, and has been commissioned by major cultural institutions including Manchester International Festival and Artangel. She has led hands-on making workshops for organisations including Cementfields.
Together, they bring rigorous creative and technical practice tested at the highest levels of art, architecture and engineering to the way people think and work.
